We have been operating venues and organising concerts for 30 years and since then our ever growing family has expanded to also run its own ticketing, festivals and band management operations.
If you have experience of technical production in a live music venue, are familiar with and can operate digital FOH desks (preferably Vi1), lighting desks and DJ equipment, we have an exciting role for you based at our unique Thekla venue in Bristol.
Main Purpose of the Role:
The successful candidate will be ultimately responsible for all aspects of the venue’s PA, lighting and audio-visual systems. You will supervise, coordinate, maintain and operate all sound and concert/club lighting and visual equipment used in Thekla.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Services for both Live Shows and Club Events
- Equipment Maintenance
- Ensure that all Health & Safety requirements are fully met
- Staff Supervision
- Liaise with the Production Manager to make sure all touring production needs are met where practicable
- Set up and run live concerts including mixing the sound FOH, mixing the “on stage” sound in the Monitors and programming and operating light shows
- Stage management during live shows including assisting with change over and ensuring the gig runs on time, and performing the role of systems technician to the visiting engineers
- Recruitment and management of casual staff and contracted engineers for sound and lights provisions at live and club events.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Able to mix sound to a high standard for national touring bands
- Able to operate lighting desk for live and club events
- Able to maintain and develop venue sound and light systems
- Able to supervise casual technical staff and train where needed in sound and light skills specific to the venue.
- Understands health and safety requirements for lights and sound operation in similar venues.
Due to the nature of the industry, it is a requirement that you must be available to work un-sociable hours as this role involves many late night, weekend and Bank Holiday shifts.
