It’s December (again)

Merry Christmas Crewmates! It’s everyone’s favourite time of year (again).

The team at Thekla has been hard at work this month, preparing and hosting all of our Christmas clubs & concerts all to deliver you the best nights out and live music possible. But we’ve been working on some extra special stuff behind the scenes too. Last week we introduced a brand new merch line just in time for the holidays. Our three new shirts were designed in-house, printed on comfortable and sustainable blanks, and even better printed locally in Bristol! We spent a long time getting these right, and we’re so happy to have them out in the world now. We have super limited stock on these, and sizes have already started selling out, so be quick! You can see all the new designs here, and place an order over on Alt Tickets. Get orders in soon so we can get them shipped out to you before Christmas.

Speaking of, let’s go over our opening dates for the next couple of weeks. It’s business as usual at the boat until December 24th. From Christmas Eve the boat will be closed and our crew will be out of office, so any enquiries will have to wait until we open again on Friday 27th of December. And on that date, we’re switching things up! Our famous Thekla Thursday night Pressure will be moving to that Friday 27th for one night only. We can’t open Christmas Eve, so you’ve got Boxing Day to heal your hangover and then come get a whole new one at Pressure’s Christmas Hangover. Tickets are on sale for that one now. From then on we’re rolling as usual, including opening on Tuesday 31st for our award-winning New Year’s Eve party, for which tickets are flying out and will soon be sold out so don’t hang about if you want to see in 2025 at the boat.

For all of our live music lovers – we’ve announced tonnes of amazing new shows this month that you will not want to miss. Local post-punk noise makers Knives play their biggest headline show to date on the 10th of May, this will be one for the books. Anyone who came to the Mother Vulture headline last year will know exactly how it feels to be in the room for a gig like that. And speaking of those guys, they’re coming back for their own show on February 7th, this time c0-headlining with Ramkot and support from Bristol math-rock outfit Seneca. If you were wondering how we could improve on the last time thy played – that’s how. Make sure you come down for that one and check out Seneca – the last time Vulture played the boat we had Mallavora support who quickly went on to play Kerrang’s stage at Download. Check out the Live section of the site for full listings.

That’s all from us this year, if you’re interested in some stats from the year gone check out our ‘Thekla Wrapped’ post on our feed, and if we don’t see you before we say goodbye to 2024, we’ll look forward to having you back in the New Year!

Yours boatily, Team Thekla.
