London based, Cornwall raised solo singer, writer, and producer MAY fuses her love for art and pop music through electronic production, gliding strings, spoken phrases and characterful vocals with heavy hip hop influenced beats.
She has previously supported close friends Jockstrap at their UK headline shows and across Europe, along with being personally invited to support acts black midi, Shame, Famous and Wu-Lu. Within the past 2 years she has performed at The Great Escape, Pitchfork Paris, Fifty Fifty Lab, Beyond The Music, and Mutations Festival as well as other headline shows in London’s The Waiting Room and Sebright Arms.
MAY’s critically acclaimed first release ‘PHONE ME’ was released in Spring of 2023, garnering features from The Fader, The Line Of Best Fit, DIY, Equate and Rolling Stone, as well as being Jack Saunders’ ‘Next Wave’ track on his ‘Future Artists’ show on Radio 1.
Her latest single ‘Cynthia’ plus accompanying debut EP release ‘EP1’ in November ’24 both amassed attention from respected indie and alternative music outlets, including Clash Magazine, Earmilk, DIY, Indie Shuffle & The 405, applauding her experimental approach to pop and distinctive blend of atmospheric production and emotional lyricism.
